This session provides the nuts and bolts of Encoded Archival Context—Corporate Bodies, Persons, and Families (EAC–CPF), its structure, and its possibilities. Using a variety of examples, the webcast covers the schema from start to finish and concludes with a brief discussion of existing data sources that can be leveraged for the creation of EAC–CPF records.


Upon completion of this course, you will:

  • Design principles and development of the schema.
  • Identify concepts of identity used in the schema.
  • Explain specific aspects of the schema with full examples.


Who should attend:

Archivists unfamiliar with or just beginning to explore EAC–CPF as a companion standard for EAD finding aids.
